Where Are All The Communists When You Need One!
I've been following the story on Van Jones since it first gained steam on the Glenn Beck show. I'm amazed by several things. I was watching Fox News over the weekend and caught Juan Williams remarks on a panel on the Chris Wallace report. He was really steamed that Jones had to resign. He indicated that the job held by Jones was a low level job and had no influence on policy or hardly anything to do with how things will go in our country. I heard several other liberals on other shows jump on the same thing. I was shocked by two things. First, there is no low level job in the White House. Even though Jones doesn't hold a cabinet position, he's a czar. That's a big deal. It's a position that helps to direct and establish policy. I'm fascinated that a person of Williams position would not get this and the second thing is that in 1992 Van Jones professed to being a communist! According to Wikipedia, he delayed entering the work force after law school to join STORM, a radical group committed to Marxist policies. There is no indication that he has changed. I'm just shocked that liberals are OK with a communist thinking individual anywhere in our government (of course it is actually full of them). We've spent years and untold amounts of lives combating communism in this country and now it's OK to have them running our country. This move toward socialism is scary. It's coming fast and it's coming certain. If we don't clean out that rat's nest in Washington in 2010 I can't imagine what our country will look like. Wait, yes I can.....I see it already! It's just a shame that about 55% of our fellow Americans don't!!!! That's encouraging.

Some Gun News Swinging On The Grapevine
I have been receiving some emails recently concerning a bill in the House regarding gun registration. I investigated a bit and found a few things. The email addresses the concern that on our 2009 income tax returns we need to list all our guns. I don't see that in the bill. The bill was introduced in the House by Bobby Rush and is referred to as the Blair Holt bill. I can't find where there has been passage and the general consensus is that it will not. It is however symptomatic of a larger and valid concern to gun ownership. Because of the popular nature of gun ownership in America, opponents are having a hard time getting enough support to get rid of our guns. But consider another approach. What if they simply let us have them but made it so cumbersome to even have around, that the bother was greater than the benefit. Suppose they make everyone have some kind of expensive federal approved recepticle in which to store them. And that it had to meet a ton of guidelines. And suppose they as the bill suggests made us all obtain a federal firearms licence just to have them. And suppose they made us register all ammunition and provide serial numbers of the firearm in which it would be used. And then throw a bunch of laws on care and handling that were such that if you miss the least little part of it you are guilty of a felony. If you throw enough burdens on having something it will discourage people simply due to the hassle. My greatest fear is this is exactly where they are headed. Then they can argue that we have the complete right to own within the framework of the law. In the state of New York, you can't even own a handgun without a permit. You can't even have it in your home with no intention to ever take it outside. That is a huge robbery of freedom. In the state of Indiana you only need to obtain a simple and inexpensive permit and you can have as many as you desire and take them with you anywhere you go. What a distinct difference in freedom. I'm a bit concerned, Am I paranoid?

Faith In Obama Slipping????
I have to admit, the American people perplex me. I opened my email today and saw the headlines that faith in Obama is slipping. According to the most recent poll, only 49% of Americans believe he will make the right decisions for the country. At his 100 day mark that number was 60. However, 57% overall like the job he is doing. I know I'm not the brightest crayon in the box but I am a bit bewildered at the inconsistency of these numbers. I'm also quite concerned that it took this long for the faith in his abilities to slide. I'm not sure what potential 2/3 of the American people saw in the first place. Let me say I don't dislike the man. I'm sure on a personal level, aside from discussing politics, I would probably enjoy playing a round of golf with him. I think he most likely loves his wife and kids and probably wants to be a good father and husband. He seems to enjoy the normal things in life just like I would and aside from the obvious arrogance, is probably an average guy. I've been around people like him in business and could usually find time with them to not be all that bad. But it does stop there. He despises the country I love. He thinks America is all wrong and it needs a complete overhaul. While I agree our country is on the wrong course, the difference between the two of us is that the wrong course to me is exactly the right course to him. It is a wide philosophical divide. We share no common ground there. The perplexing thing to me is that this was my opinion from the very first few times I heard him. He was charismatic, but void of substance. A master politician with nothing behind it (which in thinking, defines a master politician). I was a young married adult when Jimmy Carter was president. I also thought him to be a fairly nice guy. Not someone I would find it easy to dislike. But as a leader, he was a bafoon. I think he could have failed at organizing a two-car parade. My biggest rub with his time in office was that it lead to a return on money of 14% at a time when I didn't have any! The scary thing is that I had a higher level of confidence in Carter than I do Obama. I hate that, but it's the truth. I am amazed that people ever had faith in his ability to manage a job the size of the task of being president. And for the record, the mess he inherited was the result of the failed policies of the moderates and liberals to which he aligns himself, and was one of. So don't ride that horse near my stable. I would agree that the last time around there wasn't anyone on the ticket that instilled a sense of pride and trust in me, but of them all he certainly shared a spot at the bottom of the list. I never expected anything different from what we now have. I'm amazed that with a 49% approval, apparently 8% of the 51% that don't approve still do approve at some level. If they polled me it would be much easier and much more consistent. My overall approval of anyone sitting in any elected office inside of the beltway in Washington is 0% approval and 100% dissaproval. I'm a pollster's dream! Oh well, I still love America and even love Americans, even if I can't figure them out.

Being Quite "Frank"
I've been following the humor of the recent town hall meetings being held around the country with an amused interest. I grew up around a popular saying "what goes around comes around". I'm enjoying every minute of the much overdue condemnations being directed at the people responsibile for dismantling the country I love. It did my heart good to see Barney Frank (who I consider to be one of the best examples of the lows in leadership to which our nation has stooped) to be enraged at being the recipient of the very same treatment to which he has been at the core of directing toward anyone that is conservative. These clowns have dished this out against anyone who does not embrace their agenda and they have had a free ride to conduct themselves without any checks or balances for much too long. They have hurled insults at individuals with an opposing view of government with an uncontroled vengence and it's time for their "chickens to come home to roost" to quote one of their most influential leaders. Its about time for the American people to awaken and discover the crimes being committed against our freedoms. While I understand that it will not in any way disuade these liberals from their opinions I can only hope that it will make the journey a bit more painful. I can truly say to them to quote another of their beloved leaders; "I feel your pain!"

Palin May Not Be Too Far Off On Health Care
If you've been following the recent news regarding Sarah Palin's concerns over the potential of "end of life" issues within the formation of national health care you've undoubtedly also witnessed the news media presenting their views that she is just another right-wing nut case with an agenda against all that is pure and good. I wouldn't jump on that bandwagon just yet. Take a minute and consider a few things. While I would agree that the proposed bills (which there are none by the way) would certainly not establish a method of ending the life of a person, that doesn't mean that it may not in any way lead to that. I believe this is the core of Palin's concerns. Do you have a confidence in our national leadership to stop in any way at any time the decision to determine that the quality of life for any individual is no longer possible, therefore for the good of the bigger economic picture a decision could be made to not allow costly life-saving health care procedures to be administered on a case-by-case basis? I realize they all say there is no way they will ever allow government to decide if a person's life should end, but that's simply because they know that would not be a popular position at this moment. Let's face it, they're all about polls and the next election. But isn't it true that many of them, in fact the majority of them have no reservations about supporting, defending and even funding the act of ending the life of children every hour of every day. It's irrelevant to me on which side of the abortion issue you position yourself, it still ends the life of a living being. By definition, that is death. If you have a confidence that the same people would never take that to the next chapter for the elderly or terminal, you obviously are a bit naive or extremely mis-informed. Most national leadership, both parties included, are corrupt, self-serving, greedy, dishonest, morally void, and completely unconcerned about the American people. They care only about themselves and their kind. Remember, we're not dealing with people of honor here, we're dealing with the lowest forms of human life. So don't be so quick to dismiss the concern. They're capable of stopping at nothing, including life, if it serves their own motivations.

One Of The Finest Examples Of Our Greatest Problem!
I recently viewed this video clip on an email I received. I wasn't shocked or surprised. It simply supports my concern for our country. America is in trouble due to a massive leadership void. The American people have bought a delusion and we are living under the consequences of that choice. This exchange is a glaring example of it. I've always had a problem with addressing elected individuals as "honorable" simply because most of them are not. They have been appointed to serve at a job. To address them with respect is understandable and under ideal conditions would be the right thing to do, however, I would never feel obligated to address Bernie Madoff as sir because his actions have extinguished that privelige of respect. So is true with the majority of elected officials and for Barbara Boxer to place her identity in the cocoon of title with the greater enormity of problems we face, is indeed a shame. I do find it interesting by her own admission that she has worked hard to achieve the title of "Senator" but apparently has not yet worked hard enough to achieve the title of "Ma'am". I must assume from her exchange that the title of "Ma'am" is not one that carries significance to her. What a set-back for the feminist movement!
